Sometimes (or so I'm told) couples will do something special and go away for the weekend, maybe to a fancy hotel. This is our version.

Yesterday we took the kids to my mum's place, and after a lovely dinner, left them there. Then we drove home.

Our house has a front room which we never use. It has a lounge (convertible to a bed) and an open fireplace.

Last night we pretended that room was our fancy hotel. We had a lovely roaring fire going and talked and read books.

Very relaxing :-)

The boys are still at my mum's place. They come home tomorrow. Hmm, I wonder what's for dinner tonight?
